Pickett completed 18 of 30 passes for 199 yards without an interception. Pittsburgh ran for a season-best 217 yards - including 99 by Najee Harris and 51 by Pickett - and didn’t turn it over for the third time this season. It wasn't just the defense that rediscovered its identity. We know what type of defense we can be (with him). “(TJ) is still that guy,” said outside linebacker Alex Highsmith, whose two sacks boosted his season total to 8 1/2. Pittsburgh's performance against the sputtering Saints felt like a welcome return to normalcy. Then Watt went down and things quickly went sideways. The Steelers' win over New Orleans (3-7) looked a bit like their Week 1 upset in Cincinnati, when the defense produced sacks and turnovers with startling regularity. “That's what I'm going to continue to try and do.”Īny path Pittsburgh (3-6) navigates to be a factor down the stretch surely relies on Watt's presence. “I’m here to make plays and help make a difference in the game," said Watt, who had four tackles and a quarterback hit. 90 once again a blur coming off the edge - shut down the Saints late in a 20-10 victory that provided fuel to Watt's belief there is still time for the Steelers to make something out of 2022. Kenny Pickett and George Pickens ran for 1-yard touchdowns and Pittsburgh's rejuvenated defense - the one with Watt's No. Something far more attainable is the formula the Steelers rediscovered against New Orleans, one they hope could serve as the foundation of a second-half push. “You wish you could freeze time for just one second,” Watt said. No wonder Watt took a second on Sunday to bask in a moment that seemed far away during his lengthy rehab, one that not coincidentally was in lockstep with his team's worst start in eight years. Two months spent standing on the sideline while his torn left pectoral muscle healed deprived the Pittsburgh star linebacker of the lifeblood that sustains him and the Steelers of a player that can change the arcs of games, if not entire seasons. Watt felt the familiar and still indescribable jolt the moment he emerged from the tunnel. ![]() ![]() ![]() NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints Watt's return fuels Steelers to 20-10 win over shaky Saints

![]() Company culture is this marvelous thing, one thing founders don’t necessarily pay too much attention to. Why was Paypal different? One of the reasons why Elon Musk didn’t have an easy landing on Paypal was, company Culture. Not so different from the other Company Forensics we’ve done. So far, this sounds like the story of a ‘regular’ startup. This bank was founded by none other than Elon Musk, who was brought in as CEO. In March 2000, Confinity merged with an online bank called X.com and took their name. After experimenting with a few solutions, the one idea that stuck was a payment system called PayPal that would allow users to transfer money digitally, which would become the golden ticket. The few small online businesses that existed had nothing close to a good platform for online transactions. The company was originally called Confinity to focus on the world of digital payments. And market reach is even bigger in countries like Germany.Īnyway- it was Peter Thiel, Max Levchin, and Luke Nosek that started this in 1998. But say what you will about Paypal, chances are you have an account. If you want to buy stuff on eBay you sort of have to use Paypal. I’ve had my fair share of not so great Paypal experiences. A necessary evil is what I would call it. 377 million users, and a total of 15.4 billion payments had gone through the platform. OK, some quick stats about what Paypal is today. Let’s look into the origins of this Mafia. It’s all pretty clear if you dive deep enough into the story of Paypal and the type of people that the founders liked to hire. Let’s look into it. What secret sauce made this group become THE most relevant tech investors and entrepreneurs. There isn’t a secret sauce. Steve Chen, Chad Hurley- the other Youtube co-founders. I mean what happened. There’s also Yishan Wong, who was CEO of Reddit from late 2011 to 2014. Made people a lot of money because its stock grew by over 700% the last year, and we might have to thank him in a few years for putting a man on Mars. His calendar was already too busy to make it to the photo, but the most well-known member of this gang is no other than Elon Musk. These guys are investors in Uber, Apple, Airbnb, RobinHood, NVidia, Doordash…Īnd what connects them all? They were all early Paypal founders or employees. This guy, Roelof Botha, is a partner at Sequoia Capital. He has also invested in Facebook, Flickr and joined the Microsoft Board in 2017. This guy is Reid Hoffman co-founded LinkedIn you might have heard of it. These are some of the most important tech companies in the world. I’m not just saying ‘among others’, their investment list goes on and on. These two guys ( Luke Nosek, and Kenny Howery), along with Peter Thiel, are managing partners The Founders Fund a firm that has invested in Figma, Stripe, Compass, Zocdoc, Airbnb, Facebook and Spotify- among others. Russel Simmons is also in this photo, another Yelp co-founder and the formet CTO. This is Jeremy Stoppelman, one of the co-founders of Yelp and still, the company CEO. The first video ever on Youtube was Karim at the zoo. This is Jawed Karim and you are watching this video thanks to him. We kinda owe him the =whole fire hydrant thing? He was relentless in developing technology to prevent fraud, such as the Captcha test's earliest versions. Thiel is a controversial figure, no doubt, being an open Trump donor and supporter, one of the few outspoken republicans in the liberal spheres of tech.Īnd that’s all I have to say related to politics. He co-founded Palantir, was THE first investor on Facebook, enough to earn him a scene in the movie. He is kind of THE best known investor in the Bay Area. Or rather, if your company reaches massive scale, chances are you are going to come across one of them. ![]() In a certain way, they control Silicon Valley. This is a photo by Fortune Magazine on an article that coined the nickname, ‘The Paypal Mafia’. An investor or a fellow founder will name drop them and yeah, you have to know who they are. If you are a tech entrepreneur, knowing who these guys are is like common culture. ![]() We enjoyed chatting with her! My sister and I traveled from out of state to our hometown of Newton, MA. We left well rested and very happy with our experience there. Light-filled, tastefully decorated, quaint, quiet neighborhood, relaxed atmosphere, accommodating hostess, fantastically located. In summary, Wow!! This place felt truly like a home away from home. A well-constructed price quote lays out exactly what work is covered - and not covered - under your current agreement. But scope creep is much worse for your business when it doesn't come with payment creep as well. Scope creep can be a problem for any business, when the scope of a project slowly expands to include more work. (It also informs them that if they wait two months to buy, their price might go up.) A price quote with a defined "valid for 30 days" window informs your customers what their price will be if they buy this month. If your business relies on regularly purchasing supplies in order for you to serve your customers, then you know the difficulties that come with fluctuating prices from your suppliers. Who benefits from a price quote template? If you have ever dealt with a client saying, "Actually, I think to make it look nice, you should also just do one more thing," then you know how valuable it is to have a written record of precisely which things are covered by the customer's payment. This protects your business in two ways: An accepted quote agreement prevents a customer from attempting to dispute the price later, and it details exactly what will be included for that price. Quote templates also provide peace of mind for your business, by creating a formal document detailing exactly what you've promised for what price. They don't have to worry about passing up the chance to buy from somewhere else, because your quote guarantees that you'll provide what they need, at the price you've agreed upon. Because an accepted quote is a binding agreement within the valid term, price quotes provide peace of mind for your customer. ![]() And that's not the only benefit of using a price quote. Quote templates fill in that gap, by giving your customer the information they want, when they want it. But chances are, your customers might like to see that information before closing the deal. Invoices do lay out exact prices and order details for your customer, but they are sent out after you've already made the sale. They want to know exactly how much they're going to pay, and exactly what they're going to get for their money. But most people spending money don't just want estimates and guesses. And the reason for that is simple: Quotes fill in the missing gap between an estimate and an invoice.Įstimates give your customers a ballpark figure of what their cost might be. In mathematical analysis, a sequence is often denoted by letters in the form of a n, but it is not the same as the sequence denoted by the expression.ĭefining a sequence by recursion The first element has index 0 or 1, depending on the context or a specific convention. The position of an element in a sequence is its rank or index it is the natural number for which the element is the image. 1 k2 1 1 All of the three subsequences in the above example converge to the same limit, namely 0, as the original sequence. Find fn kg1 k for the following subsequences: 1. Sequences can be finite, as in these examples, or infinite, such as the sequence of all even positive integers (2, 4, 6. Note that the original sequence itself is a subsequence. Also, the sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8), which contains the number 1 at two different positions, is a valid sequence. The notion of a sequence can be generalized to an indexed family, defined as a function from an arbitrary index set.įor example, (M, A, R, Y) is a sequence of letters with the letter 'M' first and 'Y' last. Formally, a sequence can be defined as a function from natural numbers (the positions of elements in the sequence) to the elements at each position. Unlike a set, the same elements can appear multiple times at different positions in a sequence, and unlike a set, the order does matter. The number of elements (possibly infinite) is called the length of the sequence. Like a set, it contains members (also called elements, or terms). Additionally, while all the characters did have a special ability, it never felt like any one ability was worse than the other Juno’s lava-walking skills weren’t more necessary than Vela’s swimming ability and so forth. She was the type of character I especially adored because she reminded me of myself-for better or worse. (Yes, I know there were female characters in some Donkey Kong games, but I wasn’t and still am not really attracted to the series for whatever reason.) While it felt at the time that many female characters were the “rational” ones or the “mothering” ones, Vela was all about kicking ass and taking names. ![]() What really got me into Jet Force Gemini over other Rare games, however, was the fact that I could actually play as a girl. I don’t think you’ll meet anyone who doesn’t agree that Rare’s collect-a-thon tendencies can get tedious, especially when one facet of that included saving Tribals as you completed a stage, but said Tribals were also not immune to your gunfire so you ended up accidentally killing a good chunk of them first time around.Īpparently the game was influenced by a lot of retro sci-fi, like Battle of the Planets. Nothing felt better than playing “King of the Hill” mode and coming out victorious. And despite the main game being mostly left up to my brother to complete, I played the multi-player mode obsessively. Then again, it’s not really the kind of game you play for the plot.Īt the time, I remember the controls for the game feeling amazing: it was like I was really in one of those sci-fi series, shooting things with my blaster and protecting the galaxy. …Like I said, there’s not much to the plot. Released in 1999 for the N64, Jet Force Gemini follows the Gemini team-comprised of Juno, his sister Vela, and their dog Lupus-as they try to bring down the evil Mizar before he ends up destroying the entire Tribal race with his bug army. The game may not have aged as well as other Rare titles, and what it presented in gender equality was equally undone in quintessential Rare style, but the game still remains one of my favorites. Sure, the story wasn’t anything innovative-and it still isn’t-but being able to play as a brother and sister team, as well as their dog, and working together to fight bad guys really appealed to me. ![]() Though I loved watching my brother play through these games, the first Rare title I dove into myself wasn’t one of these more well-known titles, but the third-person shooter Jet Force Gemini. From the Donkey Kong series to Banjo Kazooie (with some Killer Instinct on the side), these quirky games, with their distinct sense of humor, were absolutely some of my first forays into what video games could be. I, like many video-game-playing kids of the 90s, had a childhood filled with the whimsical worlds from the heads of those at Rare. |
