We enjoyed chatting with her! The B&B is located in an old Victorian house (c.1897) and is very comfortable and well-kept. Our host Claudia was iendly and knowledgeable about the area and getting places. There was 'T' construction while we were there and the Newton stops were not running, but the B&B is very accessible to walking wherever and it's easy to get an Uber. The host Claudia has Charlie cards you can borrow for the 'T' which is just around the corner. A friend came in from out of state and stayed with us on a comfortable pullout sofa bed. We had the 3rd floor suite with bedroom/bathroom/kitchen and seating area. We picked A Village B&B because of its location and others' reviews. My sister and I traveled from out of state to our hometown of Newton, MA. We left well rested and very happy with our experience there. Light-filled, tastefully decorated, quaint, quiet neighborhood, relaxed atmosphere, accommodating hostess, fantastically located. In summary, Wow!! This place felt truly like a home away from home. We had a fantastic dinner at O'Hara's Food & Spirits, a pub type experience, on Walnut St., only a few minute walk. We parked our car safely in Claudia's driveway and didn't need the car for our entire stay! The neighborhood is highly walkable. Train station is only a few minute walk from the B&B, making trips into Boston without the hassle of a car very easy. We stayed in the King Suite - Quiet, spacious, extremely comfortable bed, well appointed, large bathroom. Our room and all common spaces were immaculate. She makes a beautiful, bountiful continental breakfast. Claudia pays attention to all details big and small. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our stay! Claudia (A Premiere Innkeeper!!) was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We offer a continental breakfast each morning with home made and bakery items as well as yogurt, cheese, fruits, and beverages, according to what is allowed for small B and Bs in our state. We have rooms with private bathrooms and shared bath. Many of our guests come for workshops at Samadhi Yoga Center, the Jungian Institute, or Healing Arts in Watertown. Great location for trips to Fenway Park, local colleges such as Boston College, Brandeis, LaSalle, and Mount Ida, not far from Babson and Olin colleges as well. We are convenient to major routes such as the MA Turnpike, I-95 and Route 9. Our rooms are busiest during May through November, so reserve early beginning with the Boston Marathon. The MBTA to Boston is steps away for access to downtown, sites, and the airport all while not needing a car. It is a bustling village complete with commerce, and offers the convenience of a great walkability score.
